Talcahuano tender released

The tender covering the rebuilding of the quake-hit Chilean port of Talcahuano has been issued. The port was almost totally destroyed by last years earthquake, rendering it inoperable.

The concession period will be for 30 years, although two possible options will be on the table for either one or two container berths, requiring investment of $50m and $75m respectively.

The bid deadline is the end of July, with work to begin three months later.
