In order to make the most of port and terminal productivity, Bromma has been working with terminals to allow for big increases in spreader mean moves between failure (from 1,500 to more than 5,000).
With the implementation of best in-class processes, Bromma is helping terminals to ensure maximum fleet performance, so that the terminals are operating in the ‘Green Zone’.
By applications that collate and analyse service and maintenance data for spreader fleets, the terminals can use this information for future maintenance and repairs. For example, the Bromma Fleet Doctor application alerts port and terminal operators of any potential problems. This is down to sensors on the spreader, which provide a warning of potential issues. Technicians are also provided with a diagnosis that allows for swifter repairs and less visits to the spreader shops for tools or spare parts.
The Bromma Roadmap application has been devised with maintenance and operations managers in mind – it provides them with a spreader function history (10 most frequent fault areas), an evaluation of fleet status based on spreader key performance indicators and a framework for understanding and tracking fleet improvement.
In order to halt any potential spreader fleet faults from happening again, the application gives maintenance and operations managers guidance on how to allocate spreader fleet preventive maintenance time.
