The program will offer specific modules, ranging from crane operator evaluation to safety training for experienced operators, with simulation playing an integral role.
Alexander Bongart, head of the training department at TPS in Dusseldorf, Germany, said: “By individually combining the new simulator training modules with proven on-site training courses, we offer every crane owner customised concepts for high performance and safe cargo handling.”
At the same time, TPS has launched a new product line of terminal tractors with diesel-mechanical drive. The Transace range features two units for container transport from quay to stacking yard, and one for ro-ro operations.
The terminal tractors are based on machines designs taken over from the Italian manufacturer CVS Ferrari SRL in the spring, and will be manufactured at the Italian site of TPS in Lentigione.
Enrico Nizzoli, engineer for TPS at the Lentigione site, said: “We used the proven concept from CVS Ferrari as the basis for the development of our terminal tractors. Here, we integrated our expertise with full and empty container handlers and heavy-load forklift trucks, as well as high-quality components from proven vendors. In this way, we quickly created a solution based on the needs of our customers worldwide.”
