Terex, headquartered in Connecticut, want to expand its base in harbour cranes. If successful, the takeover would be the material-handling industry’s largest in at least a decade with a combined sales of $US5.8bil (2010). They are the latest suitor to pursue Demag, which turned down an offer in February from Finland’s Konecranes.
