The development at the quay goes hand in hand with the development of the ships. 4 ships are already prepared for shore power and 4 more will follow next year.
For Port of Bergen this investment is a part of a long-term strategy to offer shore power to all ships. From January 2017, the port will also offer parallel connection of shore power for 3 offshore vessels.
The investment at the Port has been part funded by Enova who administrates the Norwegian climate and energy fund.
Hurtigruten is operating 11 passenger ships along the Norwegian coast, the trip starts in Bergen and ends in Kirkenes.
