{"id":1547,"date":"2021-07-21T17:08:00","date_gmt":"2021-07-21T16:08:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/portstrategy.nfdtesting.uk\/coastlink\/2021\/07\/21\/tackling-air-pollution\/"},"modified":"2026-08-27T15:16:41","modified_gmt":"2026-08-27T14:16:41","slug":"tackling-air-pollution","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.portstrategy.com\/coastlink\/2021\/07\/21\/tackling-air-pollution\/","title":{"rendered":"Tackling air pollution"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A new partnership between UK-based EarthSense and air quality, emission, and combustion monitoring system provider, Marec will see the latter become the Central America and Caribbean distributor of EarthSense\u2019s Zephyr air quality monitors.<\/p>\n<p>Tom Hall, EarthSense managing director, said: \u201cWorking with Marec to distribute Zephyr monitors into Central America and the Caribbean means we\u2019re able to offer an affordable option for businesses operating in areas where air quality may not be widely understood.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Real-time recording<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Zephyr monitors record real-time ambient air pollutants including nitric oxide (NO), nitrogen dioxide (NO2), ozone (O3), hydrogen sulphide (H2S), carbon dioxide (CO2), total volatile organic compounds (TVOC) and particulate matter PM1, PM2.5, and PM10, together with measurements for temperature, pressure and humidity.<\/p>\n<p>Port and terminal operators can use Zephyr monitors to ensure air quality meets the Costa Rican Institute of Pacific Ports\u2019 (INCOP) environmental compliance standards.
