{"id":1592,"date":"2021-08-23T14:18:00","date_gmt":"2021-08-23T13:18:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/portstrategy.nfdtesting.uk\/coastlink\/2021\/08\/23\/sustainability-goes-down-under\/"},"modified":"2026-08-27T15:16:58","modified_gmt":"2026-08-27T14:16:58","slug":"sustainability-goes-down-under","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.portstrategy.com\/coastlink\/2021\/08\/23\/sustainability-goes-down-under\/","title":{"rendered":"Sustainability goes down under"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Antonis Michail, technical director, World Ports Sustainability Program, IAPH completes the panel of sustainability experts at GreenPort Live Australia on 1st September 2021 \u2013 12pm AEST.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;On behalf of IAPH and WPSP, I am delighted to take part in the launch event of GreenPort Congress Australia,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>IAPH is a long supporter of the GreenPort Congress in Europe and the mericas and we are really looking forward to discussing sustainable development and environmental practices with the Australian ports under this well established and worldwide successful framework.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Environmental expertise<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Dr Michail is an engineer in background with specialisation on the environmental management of ports and freight transport systems at Master and PhD level, and with more than 18 years of professional experience in these fields. In 2018, Antonis joined the International Association of Ports and Harbours (IAPH) as Technical Director of its Policy and Strategy Unit and the World Ports Sustainability Program (WPSP). As such, Antonis coordinates the work of the IAPH Technical Committees on Climate and Energy, Risk and Resilience and Data Collaboration and supervises all initiatives under the WPSP umbrella.<\/p>\n<p>Before joining IAPH, Antonis worked for 8 years as Senior Policy Advisor on sustainability and safety matters at the European Sea Ports Organisation (ESPO).
