A session that will cover the impacts and benefits of Freeports; how Freeports will enable supply chains to change and adjust; the opportunities for innovation and regeneration at Freeport sites; and how will newly designated customs and tax zones affect current supply chain routes?<\/p>\n<p>In addition to his role as Liverpool Freeport Director, John is the UK representative of the World Free Zones Organisation. He has been involved in international transport and trade for over thirty years and was the international haulage industry representative to various government departments during the Brexit preparations.<\/p>\n<p>Liverpool, as the country\u2019s leading transatlantic port, is a natural Freeport location. It handles 45% of trade from the US and is the UK\u2019s biggest western facing port. The LCR Freeport will be a multi-gateway, multi-modal freeport covering 300 hectares of land. This will include three tax sites and strategically located customs zones across all modes of transport, linking to the primary customs zone at the Port of Liverpool.<\/p>\n<p>John Lucy commented,<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cI am pleased to once again support the Coastlink conference, especially so with Liverpool hosting the 2023 event. This significant event continues to grow in importance each year and Coastlink 23 will be a key event for all professionals involved in or connected to the maritime sector\u201d<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Coastlink 2023 will be held on the <strong>3 &amp; 4 May 2023 <\/strong>at the iconic Royal Liver Building overlooking the world-famous waterfront in the centre of Liverpool.
