Richard will moderate for the highly anticipated session \u2018Green corridors \u2013 collaboration to drive sustainable growth\u2019 where he will welcome a number of expert speakers to the stage including Victoria Oppenheim, Commercial Director – TMA Logistics, Eleni Bougioukou, Innovation Manager – Port of Tyne and a to be confirmed representative from the Port of Bilbao.<\/p>\n
Taking place in the morning session on day one, 24 April, the panel will discuss the latest developments of green corridors and how ports can collaborate to create and implement support for zero-emissions solutions.<\/p>\n
The British Ports Association (BPA) is the national association for ports and harbours, representing over 400 port facilities and terminals across the UK. Collectively these members handle over 86% of the UK\u2019s seaborne trade as well as providing vital gateways for energy, tourism, marine leisure and fishing.<\/p>\n
Richard Ballantyne joined the British Ports Association in 2007 and became the Chief Executive in 2016. He represents the BPA on a number of industry bodies and is a member of a wide range of government stakeholder groups and international committees.<\/p>\n
Awarded an OBE in 2022 for recognition of his services to the maritime industry, Richard has in-depth expertise in ports, transport and environmental policy matters as well as a wide experience of the legislative process around the UK.<\/p>\n
