Set to take place from 24-25 April and hosted by the Port of Amsterdam, Eleni will join the Coastlink conference to present the Port of Tyne\u2019s \u2018blueprint for decarbonisation of UK ports project\u2019.<\/p>\n
Launched back in April the Port of Tyne unveiled a new sustainable smart port platform that will provide a blueprint for its transition to net zero. As part of the Clean Tyne Project, the Port of Tyne and Siemens have worked with Connected Places Catapult, Newcastle University and the North East LEP to deploy a real-time digital platform for scenario planning and feasibility studies that will help determine the future power needs of the Port.<\/p>\n
Understanding its current and forecast power usage as well as its infrastructure opportunities will enable the Port to define its path to decarbonisation \u2013 and ultimately achieve its vision of becoming a net-zero port by 2050, part of the Port\u2019s overall Tyne 2050 strategy for growth.<\/p>\n
Eleni leads and manages the strategic development and tactical implementation of pioneering, sustainability-focused activities required to achieve the Port\u2019s net zero and environmental objectives, as outlined in the ambitious Tyne 2050 strategy.<\/p>\n
In addition, Eleni also manages relationships and collaboration opportunities with sustainability, commercial, R&D and academia partners to develop innovative environmental solutions and to co-create energy test-bed opportunities for the Port and its customers.<\/p>\n
Eleni is currently looking at multiplying the advantages of new technologies and innovative business ideas, through the collaboration of pivotal stakeholders from academia and industry, with a common goal to achieve a green, sustainable and smart future for the maritime sector.<\/p>\n
