{"id":360,"date":"2018-12-10T10:36:00","date_gmt":"2018-12-10T10:36:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/portstrategy.nfdtesting.uk\/coastlink\/2018\/12\/10\/middle-east-ports-at-critical-turning-point\/"},"modified":"2018-12-10T10:36:00","modified_gmt":"2018-12-10T10:36:00","slug":"middle-east-ports-at-critical-turning-point","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.portstrategy.com\/coastlink\/2018\/12\/10\/middle-east-ports-at-critical-turning-point\/","title":{"rendered":"Middle East ports at critical turning point"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Figures from ASCELA ADVISORS\u2019 (ASCELA) infrastructure advisory team flag up handling capacity at the region&#8217;s ports that has grown by more than 10% against container throughput over the last seven years that has only risen by 4%.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPutting it in perspective, back in 2011 the average utilisation rate was around 75%, but it had fallen to 66% by 2017.
