Green Marine\u2019s environmental programme makes it possible for ports, terminal operators and shipping lines to voluntarily reduce their environmental footprint through addressing key environmental issues including air emissions, community impacts and environmental leadership.<\/p>\n

Membership to Green Marine requires that members demonstrate year-over-year meaningful improvements in measurable ways to maintain their Green Marine certification. The programme is transparent with all results independently verified and made public.<\/p>\n
The port recently christened the first stage of its wharf 1 shore side power programme, the largest single emissions reduction programme in Ventura County history.<\/p>\n
Over the next 30 years, the electrification of the port\u2019s wharf 1 will reduce PM by 92%, NOx by 98% and CO2 by 55%. A second stage allowing additional ships to simultaneously plug-in is expected to be completed early next year.<\/p>\n
