These include levels of CO2 reduction, human rights impact and legal criteria.<\/p>\n<p>GoodFuels\u2019 certification, which assesses the sustainable viability of the biomaterials to generate marine bunker fuel, has been awarded for two years.<\/p>\n<p>Barbara Bramble, chair of RSB\u2019s Board of Directors, said: \u201cGoodFuels is working to change the story of marine shipping emissions. They aim to promote the use of RSB-certified \u2018drop-in&#8217; marine fuels.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBy looking to source RSB certified fuels, GoodFuels will be paving the way for a more sustainable future for the marine transportation industry,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Drop-in\u2019 biofuels are liquid hydrocarbons that are functionally equivalent to petroleum-based fuels, meaning that they can effectively be \u2018dropped in\u2019 to existing infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>Together with its partners, dredging and marine expert Boskalis, and supplier of engines and power systems W\u00e4rtsil\u00e4, GoodFuels announced in October a two-year pilot programme to accelerate the development of sustainable, scalable and affordable drop-in biofuels for use in the commercial shipping industry.<\/p>\n<p>GoodFuels has also created a \u2018sustainability advisory board\u2019 of some of the world\u2019s experts on biofuel extraction, to ensure its products are 100% sustainable.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Netherlands-based GoodFuels Marine has received the highest standard of certification from the Roundtable of Sustainable Biomaterials (RSB), enabling the company to actively sell and promote RSB-certified biofuels to the shipping industry.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":8,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[24],"tags":[],"sponsor":[],"class_list":["post-4421","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-products-services-greenport"],"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.portstrategy.com\/coastlink\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/4421","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.portstrategy.com\/coastlink\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.portstrategy.com\/coastlink\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.portstrategy.com\/coastlink\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/8"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.portstrategy.com\/coastlink\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=4421"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.portstrategy.com\/coastlink\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/4421\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.portstrategy.com\/coastlink\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=4421"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.portstrategy.com\/coastlink\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=4421"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.portstrategy.com\/coastlink\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=4421"},{"taxonomy":"sponsor","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.portstrategy.com\/coastlink\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/sponsor?post=4421"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
