{"id":4442,"date":"2016-03-10T10:15:00","date_gmt":"2016-03-10T10:15:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/portstrategy.nfdtesting.uk\/coastlink\/2016\/03\/10\/imo-workshops-to-promote-energy-efficiency\/"},"modified":"2016-03-10T10:15:00","modified_gmt":"2016-03-10T10:15:00","slug":"imo-workshops-to-promote-energy-efficiency","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.portstrategy.com\/coastlink\/2016\/03\/10\/imo-workshops-to-promote-energy-efficiency\/","title":{"rendered":"IMO workshops to promote energy efficiency"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The workshops, in Kingston, Jamaica and Panama City, are the latest in a series held in lead pilot countries for the Global Maritime Energy Efficiency Partnerships (GloMEEP), a project launched in September 2015 aiming to support uptake and implementation of energy efficiency measures throughout the shipping industry.<\/p>\n<p>Participants from Jamaican governmental departments, academia and other related bodies were in attendance at the \u2018MARPOL Annex VI and Technology Transfer\u2019 workshop held on 2-4 March. Technical advisor to GloMEEP, Astrid Dispert, and a team of IMO consultants ran the event which was funded by contributions from Norway.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the workshop, the previous day saw a wide spectrum of stakeholders attend Jamaica\u2019s first National Task Force meeting which endorsed the GloMEEP\u2019s plan of activities for the coming two years.<\/p>\n<p>Five days later the team presented the workshop to delegates in Panama (7-9 March).
