{"id":4544,"date":"2016-05-24T10:03:00","date_gmt":"2016-05-24T09:03:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/portstrategy.nfdtesting.uk\/coastlink\/2016\/05\/24\/tenth-energy-star-cert-for-oakland\/"},"modified":"2026-08-27T15:40:40","modified_gmt":"2026-08-27T14:40:40","slug":"tenth-energy-star-cert-for-oakland","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.portstrategy.com\/coastlink\/2016\/05\/24\/tenth-energy-star-cert-for-oakland\/","title":{"rendered":"Tenth Energy Star cert for Oakland"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This is the tenth year in a row that the port has received an Energy Star award.<\/p>\n<p>Richard Sinkoff, the Port of Oakland\u2019s director of environmental programmes and planning, said: \u201cThis recognition reflects our ongoing commitment to being a strong environmental advocate.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The port\u2019s headquarters currently ranks in the top 18% of the EPA benchmark for facilities nationwide.<\/p>\n<p>To achieve an Energy Star award, a building must rank among the top 25% most energy efficient buildings in the market. Factors that affect scoring include building systems, operational hours, climate controls, equipment scheduling and equipment monitoring.<\/p>\n<p>In order to achieve its energy-efficient goals the headquarters implemented a number of saving measures.
