{"id":5110,"date":"2017-03-08T12:08:00","date_gmt":"2017-03-08T12:08:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/portstrategy.nfdtesting.uk\/coastlink\/2017\/03\/08\/hutchison-seals-stockholm-terminal-deal\/"},"modified":"2026-08-27T15:44:28","modified_gmt":"2026-08-27T14:44:28","slug":"hutchison-seals-stockholm-terminal-deal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.portstrategy.com\/coastlink\/2017\/03\/08\/hutchison-seals-stockholm-terminal-deal\/","title":{"rendered":"Hutchison seals Stockholm terminal deal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The new port, which is near Nyn\u00e4shamn, 60km south of Stockholm, will have better access, deeper water and greater capacity than the city-centre facilities it will replace.<\/p>\n<p>Clemence Cheng, managing director, Hutchison Ports Europe, said: \u201cAs the only deep-water container facility on the East Coast of Sweden, Norvik Port will deliver both economic and environmental benefits by reducing overland transport, bringing ships and cargo closer to the country\u2019s largest market.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Our cooperation with Hutchison Ports is a very important step to make sure that Stockholm Norvik Port will be one of the leading container ports in the Baltic,\u201d added Johan Castwall, managing director, Ports of Stockholm.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTogether we are creating the best sustainable conditions for transportation of goods to and from the region.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The new container terminal will boast 450m of quay with a depth of 16.5m alongside when it opens in 2020.
