{"id":5647,"date":"2018-03-22T08:13:00","date_gmt":"2018-03-22T08:13:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/portstrategy.nfdtesting.uk\/coastlink\/2018\/03\/22\/hungary-seeks-expansion-to-cater-for-lng\/"},"modified":"2026-08-27T15:49:36","modified_gmt":"2026-08-27T14:49:36","slug":"hungary-seeks-expansion-to-cater-for-lng","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.portstrategy.com\/coastlink\/2018\/03\/22\/hungary-seeks-expansion-to-cater-for-lng\/","title":{"rendered":"Hungary seeks expansion to cater for LNG"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>That is according to the business daily <em>Vil\u00e1ggazdas\u00e1g<\/em> which said that the shipper Mahart Zrt wants to create a terminal, backed by EU funding under the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) funding programme, that will be accessible to trains and trucks, as well as ships, by the end of 2019.<\/p>\n<p>Apparently, the new Csepel LNG terminal will be 85% paid for by EU funds, as part of the HUF 1 trillion total available to Hungary under the CEF programme, the rest will be paid for by the state.<\/p>\n<p><strong>LNG first<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Vil\u00e1ggazdas\u00e1g <\/em>said that this is the first time that an LNG terminal project of this nature will be constructed in Hungary, although similar projects are in progress on the Danube stretch at Vienna and in Germany.<\/p>\n<p>Mahart Zrt wants to build two large LNG containers housed on a floating platform by which ships at the port will be able to refuel with LNG.
