International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTSI) has earned recognition at the recently-concluded Philippine Quill Awards for its 2017 Sustainability Report (SR) and an Award of Merit for its public relations programme for Papua New Guinea communities.<\/p>\n
Christian R. Gonzalez, ICTSI global corporate head, said: \u201cWe welcome these citations as an affirmation that our strides in further embedding the culture of sustainability to our day-to-day operations are on the right track and gaining ground. As we move towards empowering more sectors and communities in our global operations, we are hopeful that these efforts will further shape ICTSI into a stronger, more effective, and consistent performer as a Good Global Citizen.\u201d<\/p>\n
ICTSI\u2019s maiden Sustainability Report for 2017 captured sustainability initiatives at the Manila International Container Terminal (MICT) and highlighted ongoing efforts across the ICTSI Group. As a facilitator in the global supply chain, ICTSI places importance on sustainability reporting, which serves as both the company\u2019s compass and ballast, and enables an accurate evaluation of its performance targets for social, environmental and economic impacts.<\/p>\n
The company\u2019s stakeholder engagement program in Papua New Guinea, meanwhile, jumpstarted public-private-people partnerships with ICTSI\u2019s host communities in its Lae and Motukea terminals. Under a pioneering arrangement, ICTSI\u2019s host community partners became part-owners of the two PNG terminals; while at the same time placing emphasis on the development of the country\u2019s youth in terms of law and order, sports, health and education through relevant programs.<\/p>\n
As part of its commitment towards greater sustainability, ICTSI has widened the scope of its ESG reporting for its 2018 Sustainability Report \u2013 which will now cover eight key terminals in the Group\u2019s portfolio.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
