For the ports of Stockholm and M\u00e4larhamnar, the new route between Stockholm Norvik Port and the strategically located M\u00e4larhamnar ports in V\u00e4ster\u00e5s and K\u00f6ping, makes sense from both an economic and green perspective.<\/p>\n
\u201cStockholm Norvik Port provides a unique opportunity to create inland shipping using barges that would make transport in the Stockholm region more efficient,\u201d said Johan Wall\u00e9n, Ports of Stockholm.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis provides additional possibilities for our customers and reduces congestion and the environmental impact of the overland infrastructure.\u201d<\/p>\n
New port<\/strong><\/p>\n Ports of Stockholms, new freight port, Stockholm Norvik Port, will be situated just south of Stockholm. The port will open in May 2020 and its location will create new opportunities for efficient and sustainable transport in the growing greater Stockholm region.<\/p>\n Simultaneously there are also major projects ongoing at the M\u00e4larhamnar ports to enable the handling of larger goods volumes.
