{"id":989,"date":"2020-05-13T11:31:00","date_gmt":"2020-05-13T10:31:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/portstrategy.nfdtesting.uk\/coastlink\/2020\/05\/13\/innovative-new-lng-bunkering-vessel\/"},"modified":"2026-08-27T15:13:42","modified_gmt":"2026-08-27T14:13:42","slug":"innovative-new-lng-bunkering-vessel","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.portstrategy.com\/coastlink\/2020\/05\/13\/innovative-new-lng-bunkering-vessel\/","title":{"rendered":"Innovative new LNG bunkering vessel"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Tritec Marine and Stena LNG say that the new vessel concept takes into account the need to configure ships in alternative ways and will have the capability to avoid side contact whilst delivering fuel, an ask coming from the cruise liner sector, among others.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith the introduction of LNG as a viable alternative fuel in shipping for the foreseeable future the need to revise the traditional bunker ship design to service diverse vessel types is due,\u201d said George Mermiris, general manager, Tritec Marine.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Safe and efficient<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Mr Mermiris said that the new vessel should not only guarantee delivery of LNG bunker in a safe and efficient manner but should also eliminate the contact with the receiving vessel.<\/p>\n<p>The vessel itself is an LNG bunker\/feeder vessel of payload capacity of 7,500 m3 with 2C type tanks and offsets accommodation.
