{"id":1620,"date":"2005-11-01T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2005-11-01T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/portstrategy.nfdtesting.uk\/greenport-congress\/2005\/11\/01\/stolen-excavator-recovered-at-port\/"},"modified":"2005-11-01T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2005-11-01T00:00:00","slug":"stolen-excavator-recovered-at-port","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.portstrategy.com\/greenport-congress\/news\/europe\/stolen-excavator-recovered-at-port\/","title":{"rendered":"Stolen excavator recovered at port"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The excavator, worth \u00a377,000 was one of two taken in Lincolnshire August this year.<\/p>\n<p>It was recovered in September when the Ports Police at Heysham Dock checked a JCB excavator, destined for Cork, with TER.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Police became suspicious when the haulage driver couldn&#8217;t say exactly where in Cork the JCB was being taken and checked the excavator&#8217;s identity data with TER, &#8221; says Tim Purbrick, manager at TER, which operates an international database of owned and stolen plant and equipment.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The check that TER made on the serial number plate revealed that the JCB&#8217;s plate had been stolen from another model of JCB excavator.
