{"id":1702,"date":"2010-12-23T16:53:00","date_gmt":"2010-12-23T16:53:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/portstrategy.nfdtesting.uk\/greenport-congress\/2010\/12\/23\/study-shows-montreal-is-central-to-recovery\/"},"modified":"2026-08-27T13:32:19","modified_gmt":"2026-08-27T12:32:19","slug":"study-shows-montreal-is-central-to-recovery","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.portstrategy.com\/greenport-congress\/news\/north-america\/study-shows-montreal-is-central-to-recovery\/","title":{"rendered":"Study shows Montreal is central to recovery"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The study, entitled The Path to Economic Recovery, covers 150 global metropolitan areas and has been jointly undertaken by the Brookings Institution, London School of Economics &amp; Political Science and Deutsche Bank Research.<\/p>\n<p>The authors of the study attribute Montreal&#8217;s strong performance to three factors, which include the Canadian banking system and the aerospace and electronics sectors \u2013 and the port\u2019s dynamism.<\/p>\n<p>The authors explain, \u201cbecause metros form the fundamental bases for national and international economies, understanding their relative positioning before, during, and after the Great Recession provides important evidence on emerging shifts in the location of global economic resilience and future growth\u201d.
