The Volvo FH LNG is an alternative to diesel engines for long-haul applications, including for towing full trailers. LNG is becoming a more common fuel for heavy-duty vehicles on Finland\u2019s roads as the country works towards a carbon-neutral future.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe tank-to-wheel carbon dioxide emissions of the new Volvo FH LNG truck are at least 20% lower than those from fossil fuel use. The demand for the new model has been a positive surprise, and the first orders have already been submitted to the factory,\u201d said Vesa Soppi, Volvo business solutions manager.<\/p>\n
Refuelling station<\/strong><\/p>\n Finland\u2019s first Volvo FH LNG truck was refuelled for the first time at Gasum\u2019s Turku gas filling station.<\/p>\n LNG-fuelled vehicles can be refuelled at Gasum\u2019s LNG filling stations, of which there are currently four in Finland in Helsinki, Vantaa, Turku and Jyv\u00e4skyl\u00e4.<\/p>\n Gasum said is committed to the development of a low-emission road fuel gas market and subsequently, several new stations will be added to the Gasum gas filling station network this year including locations in Kuopio, Lahti, Oulu and Sein\u00e4joki.<\/p>\n The purpose of the gas filling station network expansion is to respond to the growing demand for LNG to fuel heavy-duty fleets seen throughout the Nordic countries.<\/p>\n According to the Vehicular and Driver Data Register, there are more than 4,600 gas-fuelled vehicles in use in Finland.
