The partnership will allow both ports to work together to find ways to optimise services for freight customers and achieve further scale and efficiencies in the supply chain.<\/p>\n

The strategic alliance will also hope to provide operational and economic benefits, promoting greater competitive contestability and resilience in New Zealand\u2019s supply chain to help lower costs to exporters and importers.<\/p>\n
It builds on Napier Port and Ports of Auckland\u2019s existing joint venture in Palmerston North\u2019s Longburn regional freight hub. It will also support Ports of Auckland\u2019s regional freight hub network strategy to manage the growing freight market.<\/p>\n
