The industry is facing a lack of independently verified data about new technologies and techniques, a lack of clarity about the capital costs required, a lack of integration for operational efficiency and split incentives in the industry.

The SSI has also implemented a finance workstream, a materials management workstream and a credible benchmarking workstream.

At an industry conference in Singapore in September, the SSI will launch its practical outputs of these workstreams, report on progress of its 2040 vision and announce future plans for 2013 to 2014.

The Sustainable Shipping Initiative (SSI) has updated its energy technology workstream activity to focus on three main areas: voyage optimisation, wind assistance and air lubrication, which it hopes will encourage wider adoption across the shipping industry.

[24
["post-2519","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-projects-initiatives-greenport
["GET
