This year, the challenge, which is part of PEMA\u2019s educational outreach programme, will focus on reducing the environmental impact of ports.<\/p>\n

PEMA\u2019s Student Challenge (now in its sixth year) invites teams of students to propose a real-world, implementable solution to the student challenge question. The question itself constructs a fictional scenario within which there is a real-world operational issue which the students must solve.<\/p>\n

The final will take place at TOC Europe in Rotterdam, 12 to 14 June 2018.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, PEMA, will celebrate its Annual General Meeting in Bilbao, Spain, between the 30 January and 1 February, sponsored by UniportBilbao and Vahle.<\/p>\n

As well as the AGM and the industry debate, the day will include intervention and presentations from Asier Atutxa (President of the Port Authority Bilbao), Lamia Kerdjoudj-Belkaid (Secretary General, FEPORT), Richard Brough (ICHCA) and Xavier Pascual (SENER Engineering).<\/p>\n

The event will conclude with working meetings of PEMAs three Technical Committees, Safety & Environment, Automation and Control Technologies and Equipment Design & Infrastructure, to discuss and develop the PEMA Information Papers going forward.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
