Moderated by Raj Kehal, Chief Executive of Women in Ports<\/strong>, this dedicated session will examine how environmental intelligence is being applied in practice, from vessel emissions monitoring and channel optimisation to shore power assessment and sustainability strategy.<\/p>\n The discussion opens with perspectives from Rhona McDonald<\/strong>, IMO Liaison Officer at IAPH, and Manfred Lebmeier<\/strong>, Senior Environmental Advisor at Hamburg Port Authority, who will provide insight into the evolving environmental priorities facing the global port sector.<\/p>\n At the heart of the session is a focus on practical tools and technologies. Sjoerd de Jager<\/strong>, CEO and Co-Founder of PortXchange, will demonstrate how real-time environmental intelligence can be used to map the vessel journey and manage port-proximate emissions, helping ports and shipping companies better understand and reduce their environmental impact.<\/p>\n Maintaining safe and efficient access channels is another critical element of port sustainability. Jonathon Pearce<\/strong>, Business Development Manager and Marine Technical Advisor at OMC International, will explore how channel optimisation can enhance resilience, improve operational performance and support long-term sustainability objectives.<\/p>\n The programme then turns to shore power, with Kasia Kot<\/strong>, SEACHANGE PhD Student at Portsmouth University, presenting research measuring the environmental impact of shore power deployment within Portsmouth Harbour.
