Vattenfall\u2019s largest warehouse in Northern Europe will be located at the Danish Port of Esbjerg and serve wind farms in Great Britain, Scandinavia and Northern Europe when ready in 2022.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is from this central warehouse facility in Esbjerg that the major part of Vattenfall\u2019s wind farms in Northern Europe will be supplied with spare parts,\u201d said Pia Bonding, Head of Integrated Operations at Vattenfall.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt will provide economies of scale compared to having vital main components stored at several smaller locations, and it is a central part of our ambition to see growth in wind farms across Northern Europe.\u201d<\/p>\n
Efficient supply<\/strong><\/p>\n The new 2,100 sqm indoor warehouse will also comprise a 8,200 sqm outdoor storage facility which will be built on an old disused ferry terminal.<\/p>\n Vattenfall is operating more than 1,300 on- and offshore wind turbines in Northern Europe dispersed across farms from Northern Sweden over Denmark to Germany and the Netherlands.<\/p>\n The farms are already monitored from Vattenfall\u2019s central control room in Esbjerg and the town is fast making a name for itself as a hub for wind power in Europe.<\/p>\n Thybor\u00f8n Invest will be constructing the building which it will own and then let out to Vattenfall.<\/p>\n \u201cThe Port of Esbjerg is a magnet for the wind industry and we believe that it will be a good and long-term investment to locate here.
