Emission free forklifts
A logistics company has placed a record order for all electric forklifts to allow it to operate more sustainably
The order for Hiab all-electric MOFFETT E4 truck mounted forklifts came from the The Behrens Gruppe, a dealer and logistics company for wood and building materials.
“The Behrens Gruppe is electrifying their whole truck mounted forklift fleet to operate more sustainably. Hiab’s MOFFETT E4 truck mounted forklift provides emission free performance without compromising on productivity. They are also much more comfortable and safer for the operator as it is virtually silent with less vibrations than a diesel-powered truck,” said Cord Schipfmann, team leader MOFFETT, Hiab Germany.
Increased efficiency
The order includes both MOFFETT E4 25.3 NX and E4 25.4 NX models with a lifting capacity of 2,500 kg. This order is combined together with ProCare service contracts for five years for a value of €4.5 million.
Launched in 2020, Hiab created the E4 from its three-wheel drive electric truck mounted forklift which it converted to a four-wheel drive version.
Being all-electric, it operates quietly and is emission-free, which makes it suitable for customers operating in low emission zones and places where noise is a concern.
Electric MOFFETTs are engineered with fewer moving parts than the diesel equivalents, which reduces service time and spare parts costs.
In 2021, the E4 won an IFOY AWARD in the category of ‘special vehicle’ having been noted for its efficiency and green credentials.
Back in January this year, Hiab launched the third model in its eSeries of all-electric truck mounted forklifts. The MOFFETT E5 NX is built for medium to heavy-duty tasks and is equipped with a moving mast which the company says is a first for this type of forklift.
The E5 has also been nominated to receive the IFOY AWARD 2022 in the category of ’special vehicle’ this year.
