LNG infrastructure wisdom
Trelleborg’s new online LNG Solutions Explorer platform offers customers instant access to infrastructure solutions.
The platform encompasses the company’s comprehensive range of LNG transfer solutions along with its Global Energy Transfer Solutions showcase case study, which illustrates how LNG operational efficiencies can be enhanced while maintaining safety and sustainability.
“Global climate change and efforts to reduce carbon emissions across the marine supply chain have had a tremendous impact on the growth of the LNG industry,” said Richard Hepworth, president of Trelleborg Marine and Infrastructure.
”To keep up with market changes, ports are steadily expanding LNG bunkering and transfer facilities. With the growing number of LNG fueled ships and bunker vessels in construction, operational flexibility, safety and efficiency are becoming increasingly critical.”
Wisdom
Trelleborg has been leading the way in integrated ship-shore link technology development and the design for liquefied natural gas carriers (LNGCs), shore terminals, FSRUs and floating LNG applications such as Shell Prelude.
More recently, Trelleborg has taken this knowledge and expertise into the emerging LNG bunkering market with development of our GEN3 SSL/USL hybrid ship-shore link systems, which allow bunker vessels to replenish their tanks from a large-scale LNG terminal and then service a global fleet of smaller, LNG-fueled vessels.
With the new platform, Trelleborg wants to help ports and terminals understand the opportunities for LNG infrastructure at their own operation. Its own solutions include navigation and piloting technologies which can aid navigation to within 1 cm of accuracy, as well as advanced docking and mooring equipment and bespoke fender systems.
It will also provide access to Trelleborg’s latest study, ‘The Flexibility Factor: Energy Transfer Insights’, which examines LNG fuel trends, operational flexibility, infrastructure changes in the energy sector, and the expansion of LNG projects attracting investment.
