Eco-Control <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Almost 90% of all Liebherr mobile harbour <\/span> cranes delivered during 2008 are equipped <\/span> with the in-house developed \u201cECO-Control <\/span> System\u201d. This is a testimonial not only for <\/span> the ecological awareness of our customers, <\/span> but also for Liebherr\u2019s continuous approach <\/span> to develop innovative, environment-friendly <\/span> mobile harbour cranes. <\/span> The hydraulic drive system in combination <\/span> with the \u201cECO-Control\u201d system which was <\/span> developed in house, achieves a reduction of <\/span> diesel consumption up to 25 percent without <\/span> any impact on turnover output. Once the <\/span> designated speed of the crane movement is <\/span> achieved, the Litronic crane control system <\/span> automatically calculates the minimal required <\/span> RPM (revolutions per minute) for the diesel <\/span> engine. <\/span> A further benefit is the low RPM of the <\/span> hydraulic system, which means longer lifetime <\/span> of hydraulic pumps and components. In <\/span> addition, the lowered engine rpm has a direct <\/span> impact on reduction of noise exposure.<\/p>\n

<\/span>Operating Liquids<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/strong>Alternatively Liebherr Mobile Harbour <\/span> Cranes can be run on bio-diesel to comply <\/span> with local regulations and the transition <\/span> to alternative fuels in customer equipment <\/span> fleets. <\/span> Liebherr developed biodegradable oil, <\/span> suitable for use in environmentally sensitive <\/span> areas, especially for the Liebherr product <\/span> line. In combination with spectrographic oils <\/span> analysis techniques oil life time is extended <\/span> and keeps components such as pumps and <\/span> motors for ever longer times. <\/span> Due to the special design of the luffing <\/span> gear (tension cylinder in closed loop circuit) <\/span> a minimal quantity of oil is required. <\/span><\/p>\n

Noise Insulation<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/strong>The cooling system for the engine water and <\/span> the engine charge as well as the hydraulic oil <\/span> cooler are equipped with a specially designed <\/span> cooling fan minimizing turbulences and <\/span> decreasing noise emissions. Furthermore, <\/span> regulated RPM guarantees higher lifetime, <\/span> less required drive power and a decrease of <\/span> fuel consumption. <\/span> Elastic suspension of the winches guarantees <\/span> an additional reduction of vibrations <\/span> and noise. With the optional attenuation <\/span> package for the machinery as well as the <\/span> winch room a further reduction of noise <\/span> sound pressure can be reached. <\/span><\/p>\n
