Ten years after the opening of the first terminal, this has materialised in a new facility for their cruise brands.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As part of an agreement signed back in July 2015, Carnival Corporation will construct and operate the new 12,500 square metre terminal.<\/p>\n<p>The company is investing more than 30 million euros in the state-of-the-art terminal, which paired with its existing terminal at the port represents its largest combined terminal investment in Europe.<\/p>\n<p>Beginning April 2018, the new terminal on the port&#8217;s Adossat wharf, will host inaugural sailings of <em>Carnival Horizon<\/em>, Carnival Cruise Line&#8217;s newest ship, as well as Aida Cruises&#8217; newest ship <em>AIDAperla<\/em>, which is one of the world&#8217;s first cruise ships to feature dual-fuel engines.<\/p>\n<p>Carnival Corporation&#8217;s deployment of LNG-fuelled ships to the port supports the pioneering Air Quality Improvement Plan proposed by the Port of Barcelona in November 2016 to effectively reduce emissions from port activities.<\/p>\n<p>In total, Carnival Corporation now has agreements in place to build seven fully LNG-powered cruise ships across four of its ten global cruise brands in coming years.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Carnival Corporation &amp; plc has released artist renderings of its second cruise terminal at the Port of Barcelona, which will be Europes newest LNG cruise terminal when it opens in 2018.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":8,"featured_media":10881,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[75],"tags":[],"sponsor":[],"class_list":["post-10880","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-cruise-greenport"],"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.portstrategy.com\/greenport\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/10880","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.portstrategy.com\/greenport\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.portstrategy.com\/greenport\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.portstrategy.com\/greenport\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/8"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.portstrategy.com\/greenport\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=10880"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.portstrategy.com\/greenport\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/10880\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.portstrategy.com\/greenport\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/10881"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.portstrategy.com\/greenport\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=10880"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.portstrategy.com\/greenport\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=10880"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.portstrategy.com\/greenport\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=10880"},{"taxonomy":"sponsor","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.portstrategy.com\/greenport\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/sponsor?post=10880"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
