In Terms of Reference for the position available on the organisation\u2019s website, the authority said that the successful candidate would provide legal review for the project, support during the transaction stage of the process and support for PPP Model Documentations and Templates for the venture.<\/p>\n
Those interested in the position must submit an application with a detailed CV including documentary evidence and a recent photograph, as well as providing a financial proposal in a separate sealed envelope.<\/p>\n
In the Terms of Reference, the PPP Authority said that high levels of business at the Port of Chittagong and the Port of Mongla, as well as the fact that the Port of Chittagong handles over 90% of Bangladesh\u2019s total seaborne trade, have resulted in ship congestion and impacted upon the Port of Chittagong\u2019s performance.<\/p>\n
The Chittagong Port Authority therefore plans to construct another terminal at Laldia Char, with the proposed site situated less than 10 kilometres from the upper Port of Chittagong facilities near Chittagong\u2019s Shah Amanat International Airport.<\/p>\n
The new terminal will be equipped with two berths for the handling of containers from geared ships as well as two berths for the handling of dry bulk and breakbulk general cargo.<\/p>\n
