Users of the app, which is available for both Android and Apple systems, are walked through the container inspection process with a step-by-step set of prompts, with documentation of equipment numbers confirmed through PEIR\u2019s automated identification process.<\/p>\n
By taking a mobile phone image of a truck, chassis or container number, users can ensure that necessary information is instantly collected from the image.<\/p>\n
Answering preliminary questions allows the product to determine images necessary to document the equipment in question, and during this process, any damage can be identified for later use.<\/p>\n
Within minutes, an entire report is then available through a Blockchain-enabled app allowing users to track the history and images associated with the equipment.<\/p>\n
The verification system establishing the time, date and authenticity of container photos is tamper-proof and based on patent pending technology.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere are an estimated 17 million metal shipping containers in the world, making approximately 200 million trips a year, so it\u2019s not surprising that large numbers are damaged at some point during transit,\u201d said Tom Burke, chief executive of TCompanies.<\/p>\n
Mr Burke added that \u201cthe process in determining who was at fault for the damage is a problem in terms of man hours and potential legal costs for all involved in interchange points.<\/p>\n
