{"id":11544,"date":"2018-03-22T11:31:00","date_gmt":"2018-03-22T11:31:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/portstrategy.nfdtesting.uk\/greenport\/2018\/03\/22\/bahrains-kbsp-to-launch-ipo\/"},"modified":"2026-08-27T15:08:58","modified_gmt":"2026-08-27T14:08:58","slug":"bahrains-kbsp-to-launch-ipo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.portstrategy.com\/greenport\/news\/middle-east\/bahrains-kbsp-to-launch-ipo\/","title":{"rendered":"Bahrain\u2019s KBSP to launch IPO"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In an interview with <em>Gulf Industry <\/em>magazine, Mark Hardiman, chief executive\/managing director of KBSP-operator APM Terminals (APMT) Bahrain, said the decision had been made in close consultation with Bahrain\u2019s government, which had given it the green light to list on the Bahrain Bourse by the time the year finishes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYes, we are going public this year. We should be listed on the Bahrain Bourse by the end of this year \u2013 that is our goal,\u201d said Mr Hardiman in the interview.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe want to fulfil the obligations that we have as APMT Bahrain and give back the public an opportunity to invest in what is a very-successful public-private partnership project.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to Mr Hardiman, the port \u2014 a joint venture between APMT and Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo (YBA Kanoo) \u2014 plans to offer 20% of its total equity to the Bahraini public through the IPO, though no pricing has currently been concluded and the chief executive did not reveal how much KBSP wanted to raise in the offering.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, APMT owns 80% of the port, while YBA Kanoo owns 20%.
