{"id":1167,"date":"2020-10-05T11:46:00","date_gmt":"2020-10-05T10:46:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/portstrategy.nfdtesting.uk\/greenport\/2020\/10\/05\/data-breach-during-cma-cgm-cyber-attack\/"},"modified":"2026-08-27T13:49:10","modified_gmt":"2026-08-27T12:49:10","slug":"data-breach-during-cma-cgm-cyber-attack","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.portstrategy.com\/greenport\/news\/terminal-operations\/data-breach-during-cma-cgm-cyber-attack\/","title":{"rendered":"Data breach during CMA CGM cyber attack"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>CMA CGM initially said the attack on 28 September <a href=\"https:\/\/www.portstrategy.com\/news101\/port-operations\/safety-and-security\/cma-cgm-group-battles-cyber-attack\" target=\"_blank\">did not compromise its security<\/a>, however, on 30 September it stated: \u201cWe suspect a data breach and are doing everything possible to assess its potential volume and nature.\u201d It added that the investigation into the cyber-attack was ongoing.<\/p>\n<p>On 2 October it said it was working on restoring access to all its information systems and its worldwide agency network was gradually being reconnected.<\/p>\n<p>Subsidiaries Mercosul and Containerships were confirmed as being fully operational again, but CMA CGM&#8217;s eCommerce websites remain suspended.<\/p>\n<p><strong>First analysis<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On 28 September, the French container transportation and shipping business said maritime and port operations were functioning and communications to and from the Group were secure.<\/p>\n<p>CMA CGM\u2019s port operators, TERMINAL LINK and CMA TERMINALS, manage a total of 45 terminals worldwide.<\/p>\n<p>CMA TERMINALS is fully owned by CMA CGM.
