Yet for ports, waiting for a single winning technology is not an option. Investment, infrastructure and long-term strategy decisions are already being made.<\/p>\n
At the\u00a0IAPH World Ports Conference 2026, taking place in London from 3\u20136 November, senior industry experts will examine the competing pathways shaping maritime decarbonisation and what they mean for ports, vessels and global supply chains.<\/p>\n
The executive-level discussion will explore which fuels are most likely to scale, how availability and regulation could influence adoption, and the practical implications for port operations and bunkering infrastructure.<\/p>\n
The range of potential solutions is broad. Methanol, LNG and biofuels are already gaining traction, while green ammonia, hydrogen and e-fuels are being developed as potential longer-term options. Industry analysis points to a diversified future rather than a single dominant fuel, with infrastructure, fuel availability, safety, cost and regulation all influencing which pathways succeed.<\/p>\n
