The first involves an electrical energy evacuation system connecting a floating photovoltaic plant at the Port of Valencia to the existing medium-voltage grid.

The second concerns the Port of Sagunto, where an energy evacuation system will connect a wave power installation to the port’s medium-voltage electricity grid. The technology uses the movement of sea waves to generate electricity.

The two contracts have expected execution periods of 13 months. The service associated with the floating photovoltaic plant has a tender base budget of €97,484.42, including VAT, while the wave power project has a budget of €94,860.22, including VAT.

Both projects form part of RENMARINAS, which promotes renewable energy solutions linked to the maritime environment and their application within port areas. The wider initiative encompasses technologies including offshore wind, wave and tidal power, alongside other renewable energy solutions.

The project is funded through Spain’s Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, financed by the European Union’s NextGenerationEU programme, through the Institute for Energy Diversification and Saving (IDAE).

The two actions are intended to support the development and demonstration of new renewable energy models in port environments, while enabling locally generated electricity to be incorporated into existing port grids.

The latest contracts represent a further step in PAV’s efforts to advance energy transition and innovation across its port infrastructure, with renewable generation and grid integration forming part of its approach to developing more efficient and sustainable port operations.

Valencia and Sagunto ports are working on renewable energy projects connecting floating solar and wave power to grids

[46,34
2696,1000,2692,181,2693,166,2150

post-12305","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-energy-technology-greenport","category-europe-greenport","tag-enews2","tag-port-authority-of-valencia","tag-port-of-sagunto","tag-renewable-energy","tag-renmarinas","tag-solar-power","tag-wave-power
["GET
