{"id":1650,"date":"2021-09-23T11:58:00","date_gmt":"2021-09-23T10:58:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/portstrategy.nfdtesting.uk\/greenport\/2021\/09\/23\/backing-decarbonisation\/"},"modified":"2026-08-27T13:52:02","modified_gmt":"2026-08-27T12:52:02","slug":"backing-decarbonisation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.portstrategy.com\/greenport\/news\/projects-initiatives-greenport\/backing-decarbonisation\/","title":{"rendered":"Backing decarbonisation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>More than 140 industry leaders and organisations representing the entire maritime value chain have signed the call for decisive government action to enable full decarbonisation of international shipping by 2050.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe challenges associated with this transition are huge, and we highly appreciate working together with likeminded partners,\u201d said Allard Castelein, CEO of the Port of Rotterdam Authority.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ports are well represented<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Signatories include the Port Authority of Valencia, Hamburg Port Authority, Northwest Seaport Alliance (Port of Seattle and Port of Tacoma), Port Esbjerg, Port of Amsterdam, Port of Antwerp, Port of Barcelona, Port of Gothenburg, Port of Kiel, Port of London Authority, Port of Rotterdam Authority, Port of Aarhus, Ports of Bremen (Bremen and Bremerhaven), PSA International, Solomon Islands Ports Authority, and Vancouver Fraser Port Authority.
