{"id":1656,"date":"2021-10-01T18:47:00","date_gmt":"2021-10-01T17:47:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/portstrategy.nfdtesting.uk\/greenport\/2021\/10\/01\/biggest-sri-lanka-investment\/"},"modified":"2026-08-27T13:52:02","modified_gmt":"2026-08-27T12:52:02","slug":"biggest-sri-lanka-investment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.portstrategy.com\/greenport\/news\/asia\/biggest-sri-lanka-investment\/","title":{"rendered":"Biggest Sri Lanka investment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA),&nbsp;&nbsp;Adani Group and&nbsp;&nbsp;John Keells Holdings have signed a 35-year agreement to jointly develop the West Container Terminal (WCT) at the Port of Colombo (POC).<\/p>\n<p>The Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) agreement worth more than US$700m is the largest foreign investment ever in the port sector of Sri Lanka.<\/p>\n<p>The commencement of the CWICT will add more than 3m annual TEU capacity to the Port of Colombo, said SLPA.<\/p>\n<p>It added: \u201cWith the signing of the agreement, and the massive development thereafter,&nbsp;&nbsp;the Port of Colombo will further enhance its global reputation as an international hub port.
