{"id":17,"date":"2023-02-28T11:53:00","date_gmt":"2023-02-28T11:53:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/portstrategy.nfdtesting.uk\/greenport\/2023\/02\/28\/training-up-on-hydrogen-reachstackers\/"},"modified":"2026-08-27T14:02:03","modified_gmt":"2026-08-27T13:02:03","slug":"training-up-on-hydrogen-reachstackers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.portstrategy.com\/greenport\/news\/alternative-fuels-greenport\/training-up-on-hydrogen-reachstackers\/","title":{"rendered":"Training up on hydrogen reachstackers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The aim is for Fundaci\u00f3n Valenciaport, the MSCTV terminal and Valencia dockers to familiarise themselves with the machine\u2019s operation before it\u2019s sent to the Port of Valencia to begin testing in real life operations.<\/p>\n<p>Training on the reach stacker has been performed both virtually and by a visit to the&nbsp;Hyster-Yale Group facilities in Weeze, Germany.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Test project<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When it goes into operation, the hydrogen-powered reach stacker will be tested over a period of two years at the MSCTV terminal.<\/p>\n<p>The mobile Hydrogen Refuelling Station, developed by CNH2 and managed by Carburos Met\u00e1licos, will guarantee fuel supply for both for this pilot project and for the 4\u00d74 hydrogen terminal tractor that will be tested at Valencia Terminal Europa, part of Grimaldi Group.<\/p>\n<p>Hyster\u2019s reach stacker is expected to offer comparable performance to a conventional truck in terms of capacity and lift and driving speeds, helping to support similar productivity levels.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s expected that the hydrogen powered reach stacker will provide up to one day of operation before refill is required.
