{"id":1710,"date":"2021-11-08T16:23:00","date_gmt":"2021-11-08T16:23:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/portstrategy.nfdtesting.uk\/greenport\/2021\/11\/08\/developing-green-hydrogen\/"},"modified":"2026-08-27T13:52:15","modified_gmt":"2026-08-27T12:52:15","slug":"developing-green-hydrogen","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.portstrategy.com\/greenport\/news\/australasia-greenport\/developing-green-hydrogen\/","title":{"rendered":"Developing green hydrogen"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Australia\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.portstrategy.com\/news\/esg-award-\/1431225.article\" target=\"_blank\">Port of Newcastle<\/a> and Macquarie\u2019s Green Investment Group have launched an AUS$3m feasibility study into the development of a green hydrogen hub at the New South Wales port to support the development of a hydrogen economy in the Hunter Region.<\/p>\n<p>The project has the backing of an AUS$1.5m funding grant from the Commonwealth Government\u2019s Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA), secured under its Advancing Renewables Program.<\/p>\n<p>Port of Newcastle CEO, Craig Carmody, said: \u201cWe are delighted that ARENA has decided to partner with us for this important feasibility study into the Port of Newcastle Hydrogen Hub Project.
