A 15,000 teu LNG-powered CMA CGM containership deployed on the MEX 1 service connecting Asia and South Europe has for the first time been refuelled by an LNG bunkering vessel.<\/p>\n

Her deployment underscores the company\u2019s commitment to support the French port\u2019s ambition to be an LNG bunkering hub for the Mediterranean region,\u201d said J\u00e9r\u00f4me Leprince-Ringuet, vice-president marine fuels at TotalEnergies.<\/p>\n
Bunkering first<\/strong><\/p>\n The Gas Vitality is the first LNG bunker vessel based in France and can transfer around 6,000m3 of LNG by means of a ship-to-ship transfer alongside the Eurofos container terminal. Bunkering is completed while the containership is simultaneously carrying out cargo operations.<\/p>\n Gas Vitality is TotalEnergies\u2019 second chartered LNG bunker vessel and is owned by Mitsui O.S.K.
