{"id":2028,"date":"2022-02-24T10:08:00","date_gmt":"2022-02-24T10:08:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/portstrategy.nfdtesting.uk\/greenport\/2022\/02\/24\/hydrogen-at-valencia\/"},"modified":"2026-08-27T13:54:20","modified_gmt":"2026-08-27T12:54:20","slug":"hydrogen-at-valencia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.portstrategy.com\/greenport\/news\/alternative-fuels-greenport\/hydrogen-at-valencia\/","title":{"rendered":"Hydrogen at Val\u00e8ncia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The agreement between the port and the National Hydrogen Centre (CNH2) will see the construction of a mobile hydrogen supply station providing fuel to a reach stacker crane and terminal yard tractor unit prototypes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are the first port in Europe to incorporate hydrogen technologies to reduce the environmental impact of its operations,\u201d said president of the Port Authority of Val\u00e8ncia, Aurelio Mart\u00ednez.<\/p>\n<p>The deal is part of the H2PORTS project, a \u20ac4 million initiative, co-financed by the Clean Hydrogen JU programme, to promote the take-up of hydrogen fuel and technologies in ports.<\/p>\n<p>The director of CNH2, Emilio Nieto, said that Val\u00e8ncia was a pioneering port in Europe in the development of hydrogen technologies. \u201cThere was a lot of competition from other places but the Valencia project was selected because it was the most complete and innovative,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The hydrogen plant will be located on the north quay, at Bracet de la Git\u00e0, and will supply the equipment forming part of this initiative, the first of which is a reach stacker for trial at the MSC Terminal Valencia.
