{"id":2115,"date":"2022-03-31T12:23:00","date_gmt":"2022-03-31T11:23:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/portstrategy.nfdtesting.uk\/greenport\/2022\/03\/31\/east-africa-power-plant\/"},"modified":"2026-08-27T13:54:52","modified_gmt":"2026-08-27T12:54:52","slug":"east-africa-power-plant","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.portstrategy.com\/greenport\/news\/africa-greenport\/east-africa-power-plant\/","title":{"rendered":"East Africa power plant"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Bollor\u00e9 Logistics Malawi shipped the 221 TEUs of solar panels, batteries and other equipment from China to Malawi for the Golomoti Solar project during March through to December 2021.<\/p>\n<p>Bollor\u00e9 Logistics operated on behalf of two companies, InfraCo Africa, part of the Private Infrastructure Development Group, and its project partner, JCM Power, a Canadian renewable energy company.<\/p>\n<p>Valery Djamby, managing director of Bollor\u00e9 Logistics in Malawi said the company was proud to be part of a project of such magnitude. \u201cIt will contribute to phasing out costly power imports and abating regional CO2 emissions, plus it will further support investor confidence and economic growth in Malawi.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Golomoti Solar will be the first commercial-scale solar photovoltaic plant in Malawi to include a battery energy storage system which will deliver much-needed clean power to Malawi\u2019s national grid.<\/p>\n<p>The plant has the capacity to produce 60MW per year for approximately 75,000 households in Malawi.
