{"id":2124,"date":"2022-04-04T10:26:00","date_gmt":"2022-04-04T09:26:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/portstrategy.nfdtesting.uk\/greenport\/2022\/04\/04\/floating-ammonia-bunkering\/"},"modified":"2026-08-27T13:54:57","modified_gmt":"2026-08-27T12:54:57","slug":"floating-ammonia-bunkering","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.portstrategy.com\/greenport\/news\/alternative-fuels-greenport\/floating-ammonia-bunkering\/","title":{"rendered":"Floating ammonia bunkering"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Yara International has pre-ordered 15 floating bunkering terminals from Azane Fuel Solutions enabling shipping fleets\u2019 uptake of emission-free green ammonia as fuel.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe collaboration between Azane and Yara is an important milestone in decarbonizing shipping, leveraging Yara Clean Ammonia\u2019s extensive production capabilities and global logistics,\u201d said Magnus Krogh Ankarstrand, president of Yara Clean Ammonia.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese bunkering terminals are key pieces of the puzzle to ensure reliable and safe ammonia supply as zero-emission fuel,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Last year Azane shareholders, AMON Maritime and ECONNECT Energy, received public funds from Norway\u2019s Green Initiative program along with grants from Innovation Norway and Norwegian Research Council to develop and construct the first pilot unit.<\/p>\n<p>Supplying green ammonia for ships in Scandinavia by 2024, Yara\u2019s bunker terminals will be either barge-based or land-based.
