{"id":2185,"date":"2021-12-10T10:30:00","date_gmt":"2021-12-10T10:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/portstrategy.nfdtesting.uk\/greenport\/2021\/12\/10\/apmt-and-zpmc-alliance\/"},"modified":"2026-08-27T13:55:19","modified_gmt":"2026-08-27T12:55:19","slug":"apmt-and-zpmc-alliance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.portstrategy.com\/greenport\/news\/terminal-operations\/apmt-and-zpmc-alliance\/","title":{"rendered":"APMT AND ZPMC ALLIANCE"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A major component of the new Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) is an order for 18 ship-toshore (STS) gantry cranes and nine yard cranes, plus a production reservation for a further 25 STS cranes and 62 yard units in the future.<\/p>\n<p>The development and deployment of automated container terminal equipment is a key focus of the new arrangement, which sits comfortably within APMT\u2019s recorded strategy of, \u201cSafer, Better, Bigger.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Morten Engelstoft, CEO, APMT, explains: \u201cWith this alliance, we are leveraging our 23 year-long relationship more effectively, in which APM Terminals demonstrates strong commitment towards ZPMC and in return receives prioritisation of factory capacity, access to the best resources, active involvement in product development according to our needs and a commitment to maintain the relationship on a long-term basis.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The foundation stones of this relationship are already visible with ZPMC\u2019s automated equipment in use across the APMT portfolio, including at Tanger-Med (Morocco), Lazaro Cardenas (Mexico) and at its new Vado Ligure operation in Italy.
