{"id":2295,"date":"2022-05-12T14:11:00","date_gmt":"2022-05-12T13:11:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/portstrategy.nfdtesting.uk\/greenport\/2022\/05\/12\/emissions-measuring-hardware-trial\/"},"modified":"2026-08-27T13:56:10","modified_gmt":"2026-08-27T12:56:10","slug":"emissions-measuring-hardware-trial","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.portstrategy.com\/greenport\/news\/energy-technology-greenport\/emissions-measuring-hardware-trial\/","title":{"rendered":"Emissions measuring hardware trial"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A two-pronged approach of engineering collaboration and a US$1.6 million capital seed round has been deployed by the eight companies involved to hasten the implementation of Everimpact\u2019s hardware.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAccelerating the engineering of Everimpact\u2019s hardware to measure physical carbon emissions on vessels will solve one of the shipping\u2019s most overdue challenges,\u201d said Mathieu Carlier, founder and chief executive at Everimpact.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cComplexities &#8211; like cost of hardware, extreme temperatures in exhaust stacks and weather conditions &#8211; have prevented others from cracking the code but by joining hands with maritime\u2019s most influential through our engineering collaboration and seed raise, we really have the best opportunity to see market adoption,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>CO2 emissions in maritime are currently measured using calculations predicated on assumptions or visual analysis of smoke coming out of exhaust stacks.
