The 90 megawatt substations will enable the auxiliary engines of ships in port to be connected to shore-based power, reducing CO2 emissions.<\/p>\n
Inaugurating the \u2018One Land\u2019 exhibition which runs until 12 June, president of the Port Authority of Valencia, Aurelio Mart\u00ednez, said that the substations are essential in the electrification of the port.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe substation in the northern area will be connected to the Aqua substation, while the one already under construction will be linked to the La Punta substation,\u201d he said. \u201cThe latter, the one in the southern area, will be operational when the new passenger terminal is up and running to meet the capacity demanded.\u201d<\/p>\n
