{"id":2567,"date":"2022-08-05T09:44:00","date_gmt":"2022-08-05T08:44:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/portstrategy.nfdtesting.uk\/greenport\/2022\/08\/05\/offshore-wind-load-out\/"},"modified":"2026-08-27T13:58:04","modified_gmt":"2026-08-27T12:58:04","slug":"offshore-wind-load-out","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.portstrategy.com\/greenport\/news\/europe-greenport\/offshore-wind-load-out\/","title":{"rendered":"Offshore wind load-out"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The first offshore wind power project to be installed from the new site is RWE\u2019s Kaskasi offshore wind power project, highlighting Port Esbjerg\u2019s commitment to the development of offshore wind power in the North Sea, according to Dennis Jul Pedersen, chief executive of Port Esbjerg.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGiven that the Esbjerg Declaration [a pledge by Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium and Denmark to develop the North Sea as the \u2018Green Power Plant of Europe\u2019] was signed on the site which we developed together with Siemens Gamesa, the first load-out for the Kaskasi offshore wind project also showcases our commitment to the plan for offshore wind in the North Sea,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The North Sea offshore wind market is predicted to experience unprecedented growth with plans to install 150 GW in renewable power by 2050.<\/p>\n<p>Port Esbjerg has plans for another two pre-assembly sites to be completed in 2023, which will cater for the installation of a minimum of 3 GW of offshore wind each year.<\/p>\n<p>This will be supported by an ongoing port expansion which will create more storage for components prior to installation.
